On Wednesday, September 6, we heard from Minister Adrian Nador, the Deputy Chief of Mission of Argentina.

Argentina is a democratic US ally famous for tangos, Evita, and wine. However, the country is also facing a pre-election economic and political crisis.

Minister Nador graduated from Argentina’s Foreign Service Academy in 2000.  He holds an LL.M. in Law & Economics from Torcuato Di Tella University and a BA Degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) where he graduated with honors.  He served as Technical Secretary to the Argentine Minister of Economy and Production between 2002 and 2004. He was later appointed Senior Advisor to the Executive Board, Southern Cone Chair at the World Bank (2004-2006), and Senior Advisor to the Executive Board, Southern Cone Chair at the International Monetary Fund (2006) in Washington, DC.

Minister Nador was transferred back to Buenos Aires in December 2006 where he served as Coordinator of Technical teams for the UNA’s presidential campaign. In September 2009 he was appointed General Manager of the Investment and Foreign Trade Bank (BICE) where he served until February 2010 when he became Delegate to G20’s Development Group and Sherpas’ Meetings until March 2012.

Minister Nador was Acting National Director for International Economic Promotion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Argentine Republic in 2012 until he was appointed Undersecretary for International Economic Negotiations, a position he held until December 2015.  In 2018, he worked in the G20 Unit as Advisor to the Undersecretary for MERCOSUR and International Economic Negotiations, a position he held until he was appointed Deputy Chief of Mission at the Argentine Embassy in Washington, DC.He is married to Soledad and has two kids, Juan and Luna.
