Join us on January 8, 2025, as we explore Rwanda, a breathtakingly beautiful country nestled in East Africa’s Great Rift Valley. Known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills,” Rwanda is celebrated for its stunning landscapes of mountains, savannas, and lakes. The capital, Kigali, is a vibrant hub of culture and progress, symbolizing the country’s remarkable transformation.

Rwanda’s rich history includes ancient kingdoms, colonial influence, and a powerful journey of reconciliation and renewal following the 1994 genocide. Today, the nation is a beacon of resilience and growth, with a thriving tourism sector led by its famous mountain gorillas and picturesque national parks. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about Rwanda’s unique culture, history, and bright future from our esteemed speaker. Reserve your spot now for this special evening.

Our speaker will be Arthur Asiimwe, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Washington D.C. He is a seasoned media and public health expert with extensive leadership experience across the broadcasting and health communication sectors in Rwanda and Africa.

Dinner Announcement: December 4th 2024

On Wednesday 4 December, we will learn about the Republic of Georgia and the contest between those who want to join the EU and NATO and those others who want to revert to the Russian sphere.  We will be guided by Luis Navarro, a Non-Resident Fellow in the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Eurasia Program. Dr. Navarro served as Senior Resident Director for the National Democratic Institute in Georgia from 2009 – 2014 and as both presidential campaign manager and the last Chief of Staff for then-Senator Joe Biden (2007-2009). He is in a good position to give us the inside story of Georgia as a  “swing state.”
