On Wednesday, 6 December, we welcomed H.E. Nguyen Quoc Dzung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to our podium. A developing country that grew up in the shadow of great powers, Vietnam is now one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
Nguyen Quoc Dzung was appointed Ambassador to the U.S. in January 2022. Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dzung was born in 1964 in Ha Noi. With more than 30 years working in the Foreign Service, he has held various positions and built up a wide range of experiences, especially in international integration, bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, international economic affairs, and human resources management and development.
He has served as Ambassador to Hungary and Third Secretary of his embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany. Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dzung graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and obtained a Masters in International Studies at Birmingham University in the United Kingdom. In addition to English, he also speaks Russian, French and German.He is married to Mme. Thi Bich Van and has two children.
